Welcome to Turning Leaf Ceremonies

Creating a funeral or memorial service that honors, respects and celebrates your loved one while you are experiencing grief and loss can be overwhelming. Along with the social expectations and bewildering disorientation one often experiences during this time, a flood of feelings, memories and the pressure of seemingly urgent duties can eclipse clear thinking, as you try to put into perspective what the loss of this life means to you, your family and community.
As a Certified Life-Cycle Celebrant®, I am here to assist you and your family to create and deliver a custom-designed funeral or memorial service to remember your loved one, a ceremony that respectfully honors, affirms and celebrates the essence of the life they lived and the gifts their life has given you all.
The Celebrant Process of assisting you in creating a funeral, memorial or Celebration of Life will consist of:
- Meeting with you, your family, and others close to the one who has died to discuss your vision of the Ceremony and what you may know of the wishes and beliefs of your loved one.
- Interviewing individuals to learn of personal stories and information that may be included in the Ceremony.
- Assisting you in choosing from readings, music, rituals, and funeral customs from your shared traditions that reflect the beliefs and values of your Loved One.
- Composing the complete Ceremony.
- Working with other service providers you have chosen to ensure the Ceremony meets your expectations.
- Consultations with you by phone, email, and in-person until the Ceremony created meets with your satisfaction.
- Officiating at the Funeral service we have co-created in honor of your Loved One.
- Providing graveside service after the Funeral Ceremony if desired.
- Presenting the family with a typed and bound keepsake copy of the Ceremony.
Generally a funeral service must be planned in less than 72 hours (3 days) and a Celebrant-planned ceremony consists of a minimum of 20 hours including interviews, writing and officiating the service. Please contact the Celebrant as soon as possible during your time of need to ensure availability and enough time for planning.
